PDA Software FREE with Compulife subscription

The Compulife Quotation System for the Palm PDA or the Windows Mobile PDA is ABSOLUTELY FREE to subscribers of the Compulife Quotation System. The Palm and Windows Mobile versions of Compulife are updated with the same software that you receive from Compulife each month by Internet. Palm and Windows Mobile program files have now been added to the update and those new program files are all you need to run Compulife on a pocket computer. The very same data files which the Windows version of Compulife uses to produce comparisons and quotes, ARE THE EXACT SAME DATA FILES that are used by the Palm or Windows Mobile software. When you get a Compulife update for your desktop or laptop computer, you also have the update for PDAs.

If you already have a Palm or Windows Mobile PDA, and already have an SD card and SD card adapter, there is NOTHING ELSE TO BUY. The Windows version of Compulife now has an option that automatically transfers the Palm and Windows Mobile software to the PDA via the SD memory card and adapter. This is done in about 30 seconds. Once you transfer the files to the SD card, you place the card in your PDA and you are ready to go. Updates are done the same way.

Let's make sure you grasp this:

For a total cost of as little as $99 you can carry the Compulife comparison software, in your pocket, ready to do instant comparisons. whenever, wherever. If you don't see the marketing possibilities...

This is a Marketing Pistol

To understand the strategic value of the PDA think of your computer (laptop or desktop) as a rifle. Now think of the PDA as a pistol. A rifle is NOT something that you can carry with you everywhere you go. By contrast, a pistol is something you can holster or put in your pocket. No one would argue that the rifle is the superior weapon, more powerful, shoots further, etc., but you can't carry a rifle with you wherever you go.

A police officer has a shotgun or rifle in the trunk of the car but a good officer carries a pistol wherever they go; on duty or off duty. Professional police officers are always ready for action, always prepared to do their job. Just like a professional police officer, a life agent can now carry a tool that they can instantly get their hands on anytime, anywhere.

Whether you are sitting next to someone at the ball game, or in the store buying a new TV, if you have a chance to talk to someone about life insurance you likely won't have your laptop with you. And even if you did, who's going to stand there and wait while you take it out, set it up, turn it on and wait for it to start? That's all solved with the PDA. The PDA turns on instantly and you can start firing immediately. The PDA is your marketing pistol.

PEOPLE WILL WANT TO SEE YOUR PDA

Many people don't know what a PDA is. Even if they do, they won't believe that you can compare hundreds of life insurance products with something that you just pulled out of your pocket. But that's exactly what you can do with Compulife on that PDA. You will amaze people with the number of companies on the PDA, and then amaze them with how inexpensive life insurance can cost. Once you have used the PDA, all that is left is to book an appointment and complete the sale process.

REMEMBER: This is a PROSPECTING TOOL

The PDA will qualify potential prospects in face-to-face encounters. The objective is simple: secure an agreement to meet where you can make a fuller sales presentation using your more powerful computer equipment. The PDA is not designed to replace the function of your computer or laptop. The PDA gives you a NEW capability that your normal computer equipment cannot provide.

Compulife believes the PDA will not only pay for itself, it will pay for all the other computer equipment that you buy!

But don't take our word for it

Having sold insurance many years ago, I can't tell you how much I wish I had had one of these in my pocket. No more missed sales opportunities when face-to-face with a potential prospect. I have no doubt that you will have fun showing this thing to people and I can't wait to hear the stories.

Before we break down the cost, remember, Compulife's PDA comparison software is:

NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE

The PDA software comes with your subscription to Compulife. All you will need is the PDA to run the new software.

If you already own a PDA, and it takes an SD card, you probably already have 80% of the cost covered. If you have an SD memory card, you have covered another 10% of the cost. If you have an SD memory card adapter for your computer, you have everything that you need.

If you don't own a PDA, or you need an SD card and/or adapter, Compulife can provide you with that hardware.

Compulife has decided that we will become a clearinghouse for high quality, used Palm PDA's. We will be providing subscribers with fully tested Palm PDA's at highly competitive prices. Our objective is to help our subscribers keep their start-up costs low. Later, once you have grasped the power of this tool, we expect that you will toss away the lower cost equipment and upgrade to even more powerful versions. There are more powerful PDA's that can double as your telephone, digital camera, etc. Compulife's goal is to get you started for little out-of-pocket expense.

But if you are just getting starting with a Palm, walk before your run.

Compulife's initial low cost recommendation is the Palm Tungsten E.

You can get a new Palm Tungsten E(2) from Palm for $199. Click here for details.

Palm also sells seconds (used Palm Tungsten E2's) at discount prices.

IMPORTANT: Compulife is offering used Tungsten E Palm PDAs for $129 or $99 (read on). Please don't feel you have to buy your Palm PDA from Compulife. There are lots of retailers offering new Palm products at competitive prices and you should feel free to go to them.

Compulife doesn't care who you buy your PDA from; we just care that you get your hands on one and start using it. The PDA is going to make you money.

What about warranty?

Palm products from Palm come with 90 day warranties.

If you buy a used Palm from Compulife we will warrant that used Palm for 90 days. If it ceases to function (assuming it has not been physically broken or given a bath), return it to Compulife and we will replace it with another used Palm.

How much for the SD memory card?

Because the entire Compulife program takes less than 15 megabytes, we are offering 32mb SD cards for $10. Once again, you do not have to buy the SD card from Compulife you can feel free to buy the SD card from someone else. Higher capacity cards are available and come in storage capacities up to one or two gigabytes. Having noted that, 32 megabytes is more than enough for Compulife. We recommend you buy an SD card that you use just for Compulife.

How much for the SD card adapter?

Compulife will be selling the SD card adapter for $10. This is a key component. Those who already own a Palm will be familiar with HotSync but Compulife MUST be run from the SD card and you will need the SD adapter for Compulife to be able to update your SD card properly. We strongly advise against using HotSync to set up Compulife for your Palm.

The SD card plugs into the adapter which then plugs into the USB port of your computer. The adapter turns your SD card into a disk drive.

Do I have to Buy the Palm Tungsten E?

No! You can run the Compulife PDA software on either Palm PDAs or PDAs that run Windows Mobile 2003 or newer. We have tested the new software on all the new Palms currently available and we have also tested it on a number of Windows Mobile PDAs. We also tested the software on the Palm Treo 650 which is a Palm PDA, cell phone and camera combined (and it's fast). Compulife President Bob Barney has a Siemens SX56 PDA/phone with Windows Mobile 2003, and it runs the Windows Mobile version very well. As long as you PDA has an SD (or other card) slot, it is likely to function quite well. Call Compulife at (800) 798-3488 if you have any questions.

The reason we like the Tungsten E is the display quality. It is one of the largest displays. It is a bright color display which is backlit. In fact compared to many of the Windows Mobile PDA's that cost much more, it is hard to beat the Tungsten E screen. Keeping in mind that the PDA will be used to show a prospect insurance comparisons the quality of the display is important and the Tungsten E is fabulous. The other reason we like the Tungsten E is because it is very simple to operate. You will be up-to-speed on the Tungsten E very quickly.

Can I run Compulife on my Blackberry?

Blackberry is not really a PDA. The Blackberry is a device designed to let you communicate with the Internet in real time. While the Blackberry permits you to visit web sites, not all sites function properly because the Blackberry's Internet browser is not as sophisticated as the browser on your desktop or lapttop computer.

For newer versions of Blackberrys, Compulife has set up a web site at:

www.termcomparisons.cc/blackberry

If your blackberry will run quotes at that site, then you are all set. If not, you could upgrade to a newer blackberry that will work, or you could purchase an actual PDA.

Do I have to Use the SD Adapter that Compulife sells?

No! Any SD adapter that your computer recognizes and which lets you read and write to an SD card will be fine. When you put the SD card into the adapter and plug that into your computer, it will show up as though it is a disk drive. As long as you know what drive the SD card is, (E:, F:, whatever) Compulife's Windows program will be able to update the card in the drive.

CLICK HERE for instructions to load Compulife to a PDA

Can I Use the Palm HotSync or Windows Mobile ActiveSynce to load Compulife?

NO. It is not possible to load Compulife using HotSync or ActiveSync. You will need to use an SD card for Compulife's data files. Compulife's data files cannot be loaded and run from the Palm itself and you cannot HoySync files to the Card.

Compulife will not be offering ANY technical support for those who attempt to use HotSync or ActiveSync to load Compulife to the PDA.

Can I Buy a Palm from Compulife if I am not a subscriber?

NO. Compulife will not sell PDA's or accessories to anyone but Compulife subscribers. Compulife subscribers include agents using Compulife during the Dare to Compare challenge period.

Do I Get PDA software if I buy the cheaper Compulife "Term4Sale - Agent Edition"?

Agents who purchase Compulife's "Term4Sale - Agent Edition" software will be receiving Palm PDA software with that subscription but no Windows Mobile software. Compulife will be happy to sell Palm PDA products to Term4Sale - Agent Edition customers. If you want to run Compulife on a Windows Mobile PDA, you can upgrade to the full version of Compulife on a pro-rated basis.

How many PDA's can I place the PDA software on if I have any agency subscription?

Compulife's agency license permits 5 machines in one location. Any of those machines can be a PDA.

NOTE: The PDA software is the only software that may be used outside that location.

If the agency wants the software on multiple agent's PDAs, Compulife offers our agent version for a reduced price to agencies. Instead of paying $199, an agency can but an additional agent edition for only $139. There are discounts for volume. For example, an agency licensee can buy 10 agent licenses from Compulife for $99 per agent. There are other options for higher volumes. Please contact Bob Barney at (888) 798-3488.

What else will the PDA Do?

Plenty! The PDA can replace your daytimer and you can electronically keep track of your appointments. You can also use the PDA to keep a list of contacts, addresses, phone numbers, etc. It is a one stop database.

Backing up this important data is done using the HotSync or ActiveSync option. HotSync or ActiveSync allows you to connect your PDA to your computer using a cable that plugs into the USB adapter.

HotSync or ActiveSync is software that is aleady on your PDA, but will also need to be installed on your computer. If you have purchased a Palm from Compulife, you can download the HotSync software from the Palm web site by going to this page:

HotSync Download/Support for Tungsten E

ActiveSync Download/Support for Windows Mobile PDAs

What If I Lose the PDA?

Not a problem as far as Compulife goes. Get a new PDA and SD card, repeat the installation process for Compulife, and you are ready to go.

Providing you are using the HotSync software (with your Palm) or ActiveSync software (with your Windows Mobile device), then all your contacts and appointments will be backed up to your desktop computer. When you plug your replacement PDA into the HotSync or ActiveSync cable, and run the HotSync or ActiveSync software, the software will restore your new PDA to the same condition the old one was at when you last connected it to you computer.

What support does Compulife provide for the other PDA options?

None, nadda, nothing, zilch...

As you can see from the prices we are charging for Palm hardware, and the fact that the Palm software is provided at no additional charge from Compulife, there is no wiggle room to tie up our staff with questions about the Palm. We are happy to answer any questions you have about using the Palm version of Compulife, or questions about updating the SD card with the adapter, but that is THE EXTENT OF COMPULIFE'S SUPPORT. Beyond that, you are on your own just like everyone else who buys and uses these PDAs.
